Content
Course Content
This course treats social theory as something researchers can analyze, construct, and write. Students identify the elements of theoretical arguments, synthesize bodies of literature, formulate a theoretical puzzle, develop a novel and falsifiable contribution, and assemble those pieces into an essay suitable for the front end of a proposal, prospectus, thesis, dissertation, or article. Readings connect these skills to power at micro, organizational, and macro levels.
Requirements
No prerequisites. Students are expected to read and write at a graduate level.
