- Citation
For provisional reference, cite the Organization of Power Lab as creator of the North Korea Media Database and include the version, access date, and permanent release URL. A final copy-ready citation will be published with the first versioned release.
Data Coverage
The development corpus covers North Korean media articles, publications, dates, topics, named entities, and source records. Exact source and date coverage, missing issues, language normalization, and reuse restrictions remain to be documented.
Schema
The database is maintained in the PostgreSQL schema `nkmedia`. Its public schema description will identify approved tables, keys, relationships, and derived views after model-to-database verification. A public diagram or SQL artifact will be added when it is ready for release.
Data Sources & Methods
Articles are collected from project-selected North Korean media sources and normalized for search and computational analysis. Release documentation will specify collection, checksums, Korean text normalization, duplicate handling, extraction, and validation.
Current Structure
Configured Explore tools currently include Article Search. No enabled download resource is currently registered. These entries describe the development application surface; release readiness, table coverage, and public fields remain subject to the Database's vertical-slice review.
Planned Expansion
Planned work improves article search, source and entity coverage, structured extraction, and versioned research subsets. Excerpts, full text, and downloads remain subject to rights review.
